Roborock Q7 TF+ Robot Vacuum and Mop Cleaner (Black/White)

What We Like
What We Don’t Like
The Roborock Q7 TF+ is a good all-rounder robot vacuum cleaner that is jampacked with various features to help make cleaning your floors a breeze. We tested it on tiles, hardwood, and carpets, and we were pleasantly surprised by the vacuum’s cleaning ability on different surfaces. What’s more, it can also mop floors. It’s a game-changer in automating different cleaning tasks, that’s for sure.
Our favourite feature hands-down is the self-emptying dock with its capacious dust bag. After vacuuming, the Q7 TF+ returns to its dock and empties itself. Gone are the days of having to manually empty the vacuum’s dustbin after every cleaning session! We’re not exaggerating when we say we didn’t have to touch the dust bag for weeks.
Another thing we love about this vacuum is that it doesn’t just randomly glide around your home as it cleans. We like that we’re able to specify “no-go” zones using the app, meaning you can control exactly where you want the vacuum to clean.

A surprising discovery we made was that this robot vacuum can deal with pet hair really well. One of our writers tried out the Q7 TF+ in her home where she lives with two fluffy cats. Her verdict: Her rugs had way less fur after the robot vacuum went over them.
One gripe we have is that the unit does not have an obstacle avoidance sensor. It got caught underneath a low coffee table, so that’s definitely something to consider if you have low furniture or bed frames in your home. But that can be easily remedied with the “no-go” zones that you can set on the app.
Our main issue with the Q7 TF+ is that its mopping function is underwhelming. For its price, we were expecting better mopping performance. To be fair, though, the vacuum’s mopping function is still pretty decent. Just don’t expect it to wow you.

TP-Link Tapo RV30 Max Plus Robot Vacuum and Mop Cleaner

What We Like
What We Don’t Like
TP-Link Tapo RV30 Max Plus is a good starter robot vacuum if you’re looking for no-fuss automated basic cleaning. We tested it out on both hard surfaces and rugs, and the RV30 Max Plus is good for hard floors and tiles but can struggle a little when it comes to carpets.
The best feature for us has to be its Anti-Stuck Sensor, especially considering its price point. The RV30 Max Plus is good at detecting when a space is too low for it to enter, keeping it safe from getting stuck under furniture and low spaces.
Something we really appreciate about this robot vacuum is how quietly it operates. This is a huge plus for scheduled nighttime cleaning as the RV30 Max Plus does its job without waking you up or disturbing your pets at odd hours.

Another thing we appreciate about this vacuum is that it is really good at picking up large particles (like rice). Despite the RV30’s basic brushes, the vacuum was still able to get most of the debris that we accidentally-on-purpose spilled.
One minor flaw is that suction-wise, this vacuum lags behind other models. Though it does automatically apply increased suction on carpet, don’t expect the RV30 to reach deep-seated dirt. With that said, it still does a pretty good job with cleaning carpeted surfaces.
A major issue we would like to point out is that the RV30’s mopping function feels more like an add-on than a main feature. The mop cloth of the vacuum is more handy for some light wiping rather than actual mopping. However, it still can be used for light or minor stains, which is definitely more convenient than having to manually mop them.
Key Specifications
Hybrid Wet and Dry Robot Vacuum | 5,300Pa suction power | LiDAR + IMU dual navigation system | 150 minutes runtime | Auto-empty dock | Dust bag capacity: 3L | Dustbin capacity: 300ml | Water tank capacity: 300ml | Noise level: 51dB | Vacuum dimensions: 330mm (W) x 330mm (D) x 100mm (H) | Dock dimensions: 228mm (W) x 164mm (D) x 330mm (H)

ECOVACS Deebot N30 Pro Omni (Black/White)

What We Like
What We Don’t Like
This is, by far, the most expensive robot vacuum cleaner on our list. But after testing the ECOVACS Deebot N30 Pro Omni for several weeks, we’ve come to the conclusion that it’s well worth the price and lives up to the hype. If you’re looking for a dry and wet robot vacuum that does a fantastic job of mopping, search no more. The Deebot N30 mop feature isn’t just a cursory wipe-down, it actually can remove more stubborn stains for a thorough clean.
The feature that makes this vacuum cleaner stand out from others is its hot water mop washing system. Not only does it clean floors, the Deebot N30 also self-cleans its mop pads and then dries them, which means no dirty mop streaks or unpleasant damp smells.
What we really appreciate about the Deebot N30 is that we’ve been able to free up time to focus on other tasks. Thanks to its high mapping accuracy, scheduled cleaning, self-emptying dustbin, and effective vacuuming and mopping capabilities, we feel pretty confident about not having to keep a close eye on the robot vacuum as it cleans.

Another thing that we really like about the Deebot N30 is that its ZeroTangle roller brush is fantastic with picking up pet hair (and human hair, for that matter). After weeks of using the vacuum, we noticed a noticeable difference in the amount of hair and fur that was picked up by the Deebot N30. Compared to a manual vacuum, the Deebot N30 can definitely lift off more hair from hard surfaces and carpets. This would definitely be a plus for pet owners.
In terms of things we don’t like, well, the vacuum’s dock is quite hefty and bulky. It would definitely take up a fair bit of space, which could be a deal-breaker if you don’t particularly have the extra room for it at home. That said, we can overlook the size when we consider the fact that the Deebot N30 is not only a vacuum, it also mops and self-cleans.
For its premium price point, we feel let down by the Deebot N30’s just-ok navigation. We’ve noticed that the robot vacuum cleaner sometimes takes unusual paths and misses specific areas while focusing on the same spots over and over. For what it’s worth, though, the Deebot N30 does an excellent job of moving around obstacles.
Key Specifications
Hybrid Wet and Dry Robot Vacuum | 10,000Pa suction power | TrueMapping 2.0 navigation system | 320 minutes runtime | Auto-empty dock | Anti-tangle brushes | Dust bag capacity: 2.6L | Dustbin capacity: 300ml | Water tank capacity: 350ml | Noise level: 65dB to 68dB | Vacuum dimensions: 343mm (W) x 343mm (D) x 127mm (H) | Dock dimensions: 533mm (W) x 330mm (D) x 457mm (H)

Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S20+

What We Like
What We Don’t Like
A solid mid-range vacuum, the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S20+ has a decent performance in cleaning across different floor types. It’s also compact and user-friendly, making it a good option for those who are not particularly tech-savvy. Because it’s compact, the S20+ has no problems with cleaning underneath most furniture.
The S20+’s smart mapping is impressive, as it is able to map out areas efficiently and accurately. Once done with the mapping, the robot vacuum does not ram into furniture or appliances, which we’ve found to be an issue with older models. Even when we purposely placed new obstacles (like books on the floor) in specific areas, the S20+’s smart navigation was able to detect these and avoided them.
Thanks to its scheduled cleaning function, the vacuum provides routine convenience, which we like. You also don’t need to worry about whether your carpets will end up damp because when the S20+ detects carpeted surfaces, it automatically raises its dual rotary mops. In short, we don’t need to babysit the vacuum while it does its job.

One notable characteristic of the S20+ that we noticed is that it’s so quiet and unobtrusive. Even when using higher suction power on carpeted areas, it wasn’t obnoxiously or irritatingly loud. This is definitely a nice benefit for scheduled night-time cleaning as you won’t be woken up by the vacuum’s sounds.
What we’ve found lacking in the S20+, though, is that there are times it gives a wide berth around furniture or table and chair legs, leaving behind areas that are still dirty. So you would definitely need to go over those manually. But with all things considered, the S20+ does a pretty excellent job with cleaning specific areas that are not cluttered.
Our main issue with this model is its lack of auto-empty or self-clean function. So after every cleaning cycle, we still need to empty the dustbin and wash the mops ourselves. If you’re looking for a low-maintenance robot vacuum, the S20+ may not be for you. With that said, the S20+ is still a good mid-range option for its cleaning and mapping capabilities.
Key Specifications
Robot Vacuum | 6,000Pa suction power | LDS laser navigation system | 170 minutes runtime | Manual-empty dustbin | Dustbin capacity: 450ml | Water tank capacity: 290ml | Noise level: <60dB | Vacuum dimensions: 350mm (W) x 350mm (D) x 97mm (H) | Dock dimensions: 130mm (W) x 126mm (D) x 94mm (H)
