We’re going to say it right off the bat: massage chairs in Singapore can be bulky and expensive, and might not be a need for anyone.
But sometimes, treating yourself can be in the form of getting relaxation at the comfort of your own home.
So when you’re in the market looking to buy yourself a little luxury (or a “why not?” splurge), of course you’d want the best and worth your money.
That’s why we made this list!

What We Like
What We Don’t Like
Looking for a massage chair that feels like you’re being cared for by an actual masseuse and checks all the boxes for a good seat? Then the OSIM uDeluxe Max Massage Chair is your best pick.
What we liked about this chair is that it gives you a full-body experience with its L-track system, a feature that makes the massage rollers glide down from your neck to your glutes, instead of just pressing fixed areas of your back.
And like I said, when you get into this thing, it almost feels like actual human hands because of its programming. It even got the parts around the shoulders and lower back, areas that most chairs might miss or not truly dig as deep. The instant relief was palpable and once the session was done, there was little doubt about its placing that tops all the other chair.
Add to that, this OSIM chair has the Zero-Gravity feature, where it reclines to a position where you feel almost weightless. Picture it like this: you’re cocooned in this soft leather chair, leaning all the way back you can already see the ceiling, and it starts massaging you like there’s no tomorrow. I’ll admit I felt so relaxed, I fell asleep during the first few tries. It was that good.

The added heat therapy definitely helped, especially for some of us that had sore muscles and tension in the shoulders.
However, there’s several caveats to this chair that might be dealbreakers for others. First thing we noticed was that this massage chair was heavy. At around 80 to 100kg, we needed around two or three people to move it. Because of this, we really needed to plan where to place it, because we couldn’t waste time (and energy!) to go “oh how about we put it here?” or “let’s just have it face this wall.” After the heavy lifting, we definitely needed that massage.
Another thing we noticed, out tall friend noted how it wasn’t too (all encompassing, the rolling massagers did not reach certain parts because of his height). So if you’re someone whose height exceeds (height), then its something to take note of with this chair.
That said, the OSIM uDeluxe still tops the list because of its massage quality and overall features.

Novita Rocking Massage Chair B2 (Blue/Grey/Pink)

What We Like
What We Don’t Like
There’s also massage chairs that won’t blow a person-sized hole in your wallet: the Novita B2 Rocking Massage Chair is your top pick.
Doubling as a rocking chair, this Novita massager can fit in HDBs and condos without taking much space. Even when we’re not looking for a massage, its dual purpose design lets us relax and sink into its comfort – sipping kopi or just scrolling through our phone.
When we do need a massage, the roller system really helps with easing any tension in our necks, shoulders, and backs that can be targeted using a remote control. The plus side? It’s got heating therapy too.
My first thought for this was my A-ma, as she often complains about her back and hips being sore, and might be similarly helpful for other seniors. For a value massage chair, it surprisingly packs in a lot of features!
One thing we also appreciated was it being lightweight. When we were testing this, finding the right spot in the living room was hard because of the layout. But what made it easier was not needing two people with the equivalent strength of a weightlifter. Even shifting it around wasn’t too difficult. And when we’re not actively using it, we can transfer it to a spot that’s not too crowded and lessen the clutter in the main room.

Don’t be fooled by its slim design, though. Despite seeming flimsy it can actually hold up to 150kg – definitely a lot stronger and capable than we expected!
That said, given the price point, it’s recommended to have modest expectations. First off, this chair has to be manually assembled. In a way it gave a sense of fulfillment after building the chair, but if you’re someone who prefers a massager chair that’s ready to be used, then the Novita one might not be for you.
The massage also targets only the upper body and has no relief offerings to arms, calves, or feet. So if you’ve spent a long day on your feet or did a lot of heavy lifting, the only relief this chair might give you is rock you to sleep and even that might not be enough.
Also, to recline the chair, you have to do it manually. It’s not necessarily a deal breaker but just something to know, since after a pretty tiring day, having to do this extra step might seem tedious (it was to me on a bad day).
But like I said, it’s still got a lot of benefits despite its small frame. At no more than $1000, you can already benefit from this massage chair.

What We Like
What We Don’t Like
There’s just days where your whole body just seems to ache all over. From your neck down to your feet, every muscle is just screaming for relief. Well, for those days, we recommend to you the Sterra Galaxy Massage Chair, a full-body massager that can deliver comfort right at your fingertips.
Of all those that provide foot and calf massage, this chair tops it all because of the rolling sole massage and calf compression – the moment these hit my legs, it was the closest I felt to being kneaded bread, except it actually felt good.
To make the experience better, this massage chair has a Zero-G feature that automatically inclines the chair to 120-130°. This imitates an astronaut’s position during take-off and gives that weightlessness feeling while getting your massage. Talk about taking relaxation to a different level!

Beyond that, this massage chair showed us what it meant to be fancy too. It’s features like Bluetooth speakers, an LCD screen to change the massage programmes, and most importantly, the voice control demands. This was the feature we were most intrigued about and thus tested first. Just saying “Start massage” and having the chair actually start felt like we were in Star Trek.
Considering all these features, you might be worried how this would fit in your space. No worries because even with full recline and extended leg rest, it doesn’t take up too much space unike other big brands. You can fit this easily in living rooms or even your bedroom.
There’s still some things to consider for this massage chair, though. While it’s got many add-ons it’s features intended for massage can be limiting. First off, there’s no full-length roller track. This means that the massage points do not glide and are fixed points targeting certain muscles. Because of this, some of us didn’t get a full sense of relief.
This might be a deal breaker for those looking for total back relief, since the back massage can be somewhat static. In some way, it seems like a tradeoff for the features and relatively low price for it.
Nonetheless, this massage chair offers more than expected given its price point.

What We Like
What We Don’t Like
Last on the list though perhaps most impressive, is one that can turn any chair into a massage chair.
The OSIM Invisible Massage Chair is best for those looking for relaxation without sacrificing space and aesthetics in your home.
Built as two separate devices: a back massager that can be strapped on to any chair, and a separate unit dedicated for foot and calf massages. Assembled, it morphs your everyday chair – whether from the dining room, your sofa, or maybe the one in your office – into one that gives you a full body massage without the bulk.
Because its built separately, not only is it portable, it’s also very easy to store. When not in use, you can tuck it away and keep your space free of clutter.
Plus, for a small massage chair, it’s got good quality especially the foot and calf massage. The focused kneading on the legs and pressing on the soles of our feet really helped with taking away the soreness after a hard day of work.

One thing we also appreciated was the customisability of its programmes through the OSIM app. With more than 20 options to mix and match, each massage could be tailoured depending on what you need. Upper body relief after your desk job? Check. Fully body wind down before bed? Also check, and more!
One thing to consider though is that, since it relies on a chair of your own, the quality of the chair you choose may affect the quality of your massage. While it’s not a total deal breaker, you might want to check first how your things might fit with this massager.
Another small drawback is the lack of arm massage. Sometimes its not just the back and legs that feel sore at the end of the day. Arms are just as important and not having this feature can be pretty limiting with the relaxation you look for. Add to that that the “recliner feel” won’t be there too – unless you have one that can easily solve this problem.
That said, if space is your priority when looking to buy a massage chair, this OSIM chair is a great tradeoff for those features.

Final thoughts
At the end of the day, a massage chair might not be a must-have—but it sure feels like one when your back’s aching and your feet are sore.
Whether you’re looking to splurge, save, or just sneak in a little self-care between work and dinner, there’s something on this list for you.
Some chairs offer all the bells and whistles, while others keep things simple but get the job done. And honestly, sometimes just having a space to sit back, hit a button, and unwind can make a huge difference.
We’ve tested each one, looked at the quirks and comforts, and picked out the ones worth your time (and money).
So if you’ve been on the fence about getting one, maybe this is your sign. Go ahead—treat yourself. Your body will thank you for it.
