Ah, tailors in Singapore.
If you have been to one, you know that it is a highly risky endeavour since you have to pay quite a bit for a service that you have never tried before.
Sure, you can choose the fabric, they can do the measurements, but sometimes, things can turn out to be quite different.
Which is why we have created this list.
By curating some of the established tailors with great reputation and a great history in tailoring craftsmanship, we hope to save you some money from trying a random tailor you find on the street.
And yes, sometimes they might not be the cheapest, but their product makes up for it.
UPDATE: For 2025, we have updated our list of the best tailors in Singapore. Particularly, their prices, availability of some fabrics and some new styles that some tailors are now offering.
What are some of the most common complaints for Tailors in Singapore?
Perhaps the most common (or should I say infamous) complaint that customers have of tailors is poor fitting.
And this is perhaps the worst kind of issue as well.
While you can ask for alterations to manage the fitting, it is usually hard to alter the shirt significantly.
Here are some other complaints:
- Tailors do not offer alterations
- Missed deadlines
- Poor craftmanship, like the care put into stitching
- Shaddy tailors may also use fabric that is not identical to the one you’ve chosen
- Even when everything is perfect, it may not be so for the next order you place with them.
I can go on and on but you can see how things can go wrong. Here are more if you’d like to read.
So, how do I choose the best tailor in Singapore?
The first thing you should do is check Google reviews.
In the age of fake reviews, you cannot always trust tailors with good reviews, but you definitely can dismiss tailors with consistent poor reviews.
So, checking reviews can help sieve out the bad ones.
Next, price can sometimes be a good indicator of quality.
Tailoring is afterall, a form of art.
Choosing the cheapest tailor you can find may not always be the wisest especially if you have not used the tailor’s services before.
Paying a little more may mean that you are getting a tailor with better skills, and also getting a fabric of better quality.
And these go a long way since a well-tailored suit can last years to come, while a poorly tailored shirt last just 1 wear, before you throw it away.
Don’t get me wrong though, not everyone can afford high-end expensive tailors.
Price can definitely be a consideration when you choose your next tailor, but just do not let it consume you to a point of dismissing comparatively more expensive tailors thinking that they simply ‘overcharge’ for the same thing.
How Much Do Tailor Services Cost?
As mentioned, since tailoring is a form of art, pricing can vary wildly.
Mainly, prices depend on three things.
- The type of fabric used (Linen for example are more expensive, while the ‘brand’ of the fabric can play a big part in pricing too)
- Complexity of the clothing item (Fully bespoke shirts with different fitting can be much more expensive than your standard fitting shirts)
- Price of the tailoring service (Tailoring is a craft and you are really paying for a craftsman. Better craftsman tend to command higher price)
Shirts – Generally, tailored shirts start at around $90 for a shirt and can go beyond $800 for a high-end Huge Boss tailored shirt. If your tailor offers fabrics from high-end mills like Loro Piana, you can expect your shirt to start from $200.
Pants – For custom trousers, prices in Singapore can start from around $80 to $120 at entry-level shops and $200 onwards at bespoke shops offering better fabrics.
Suits – Tailored suit prices in Singapore have the widest span, from around $400 for simple made-to-measure outfits to several thousand dollars for fully bespoke suits in luxury materials (this Ermenegildo Zegna suit from Meiko Tailor for instance, is $5,400). The cost is determined by a combination of fabric grade, suit complexity (two-piece vs three-piece, etc.), and bespoke vs MTM tailoring.

1. Ron & Rich Tailor

Ron & Rich Tailor has a long history spanning over 45 years.
It is now helmed by the original founder’s son, Aaron, who has a great sense to design and craftmanship, combining heritage craftsmanship with modern design sensibilities.

2. Perfect Attire

Will definitely go to them for my suit needs!
Booking of appointments was easy to do through the website, and the actual consultation process was smooth, Tulsi being patient to explain the plethora of choices for the suit, fabrics, colours etc.
Even though I had a short timeline for when I needed the suit, everything was done in an efficient yet professional manner, and the process did not feel rushed, as Tulsi was thorough with her measurements and readjustments, and detail oriented down to choice of buttons, tie and pocket square, etc.
Would definitely return again if I ever need another suit, or even some shirts/pants to be done! Thank you again Perfect Attire (:
During my 1st visit, I was impressed with Shiriram's impeccable light-grey jacket and intricate knowledge of tailoring/fabrics (which many other providers lacked). Subsequently, Tulsi's guidance and patience throughout the entire process (from customisation to fittings) helped to alleviate my concerns, and her advice prevented me from making ghastly decisions on the fit. As with all fittings, it took a few adjustments before achieving the end-result: A sharp versatile suit for all occasions that has netted me several compliments. That applies to the customised white dress shirt too.
I thoroughly enjoyed the process and definitely recommend PA highly. Only a matter of time that I'll be back for more!
Perfect Attire is another tailor that manage to stand out from the crowd.
Unlike most tailors that outsourced their tailoring to Johor or even Batam, Perfect Attire instead do it entirely in-house.
I know this sounds amusing to the uninitiated, but most, if not all, of your ‘cheap’ tailors actually does that.
For Perfect Attire though, to ensure great quality control, they does it in-house so you get the meticulous attention to detail and that whatever you want in your shirt or suit, does not get lost in translation.
Why choose Perfect Attire?
Using Muslin first fit – Muslin first fit is a feature in tailoring that ensure you get exactly what you wanted. What it means is basically having a muslin sample done up based on your measurement, so you can try on the sample shirt/suit/trousers to make sure it fits well before it is actually made.
Customise all you want! – While many tailors allow limited customisation like inner collar fabric and buttons, Perfect attire allows you to choose different types of collars, cuffs, lapel styles, and even down to minor customisation like buttonhole and stitching colours.
Consistent fit for future orders – As we have seen from many complains, consistent fit for subsequent orders have been one of the most common complaints on the internet. Perfect Attire seek to prevent this from happening by using CAD patternmaking, which basically means the fit of your garment is replicated accurately in digital form, so garment can be cut precisely for future orders.
Shirt Fabrics – Luxurious cotton and linen options include textiles from Andreazza & Castelli, Alumo, Albini and Perfect Attire’s exclusive House Collection.
Prices:
- Shirts from $150
- Trousers from $175
- Bespoke Suits from $650
- Other rates available on Perfect Attire’s website

3. Common Suits

I tailored two suits here for daily wear and I must say the quality is exceptional. The reason why I chose Common Suits is because I had been looking a long time for a tailor in Singapore that catered to the classic drape style and also carried Loro Piana and VBC fabrics. Don't worry their classic tailoring also incorporates a modernized slimmer profile where necessary.
Process: I was fortunate to have been served by both Chanel and Javin the founder, and it was clear that their understanding of the male physique is well above market standards. The fitting process took into account individual peculiarities like alignment and musculature differences. Overall I had 3 fittings which I think is the minimum for such a bespoke experience. Again I was impressed by the precision that was achieved with only 3 fittings. Despite being larger around the waist, the final outcome managed to help me achieve a classic aesthetic male physique and a drape that highlighted the casual vibe I was going for.
As a final note, I hope that people reading this would consider Common Suits simply to support a quality local business in Singapore.
Javin and the team provided top-tier service, taking the time to understand my preferences and ensuring everything was executed perfectly. The suit was completed within the expected timeframe, and the entire process was smooth and professional.
If you're looking for a bespoke suit done right, Commonsuits is the place to go. Their dedication to quality and service is second to none, making the entire experience enjoyable and hassle-free. Highly recommended.
The attention to detail and craftsmanship truly stood out, as each piece was tailored beautifully to fit my body. Their expertise and commitment to quality were evident in every aspect of the process.
If you’re looking for a custom tailor who prioritizes precision and customer satisfaction, I highly recommend Common Suits. It was a pleasure working with them, and I look forward to returning for future pieces.
Thanks to Common Suits my partner said YES 😊
Just like the name, Common Suits seeks to make great tailored clothing accessible for Singaporeans.
It especially focuses on great cuts that allow men to better exude their masculinity through its signature ‘masculine house cut’.
And apparently, it works.
Common Suits has become so popular that it has expanded its presence in the region with outlets opening in Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand.
So, why choose Common Suits?
Signature House Cut – As mentioned, Common Suits has created a house cut that not only exudes a man’s masculinity but also features a highly breathable canvas construction that is also highly practical in Singapore’s sweltering weather.
In a country where wearing long-sleeved clothing is already a sweat-drenching experience, Common Suits provides a solution that gives customers a garment that is as comfortable as it is luxurious.
Focusing on the overall image – Sure, you can go to common suits for just a tailored shirt, but the tailor understands that customers want to look great with a sophisticated wardrobe.
This is why customers get more than just tailored clothing, you can seek advice on choosing the perfect fabric and designing a complete wardrobe that makes you look ready to dazzle.
Having Ultra-fine, luxurious fabrics – Common Suits also procure some of the most luxurious fabrics in the world. Vicuña for instance, is known for its softness and is one of the rarest fabrics in the world. Common Suits also has the Super 200s Wool, which is considered the Rolls Royce of the Wool world, made from the finest merino wool.

4. Ehkay Corner Tailors

With its big “TAILORS” word prominently shown while driving along Orchard Road, Ehkay Corner Tailors feels almost like a landmark along Orchard Road.
And it may be so since the tailor has been around since 1981, and has served generations of customers. Despite its traditional looking signboard, Ehkay Corner has actually moved online and offer virtual consultations and even an online shop.
In addition, Ehkay offers rental services, something which is not common among tailors. So if you are looking to rent for special occasions like a Wedding Attire or a Black-Tie event, Ehkay’s rental services provide contactless fitting and islandwide delivery.
Also, unlike the tailors showcased above, Ehkay offers clothing that suits every budget. From your budget everyday office battle attire, to high quality garments from Huddersfield and Paladino, Ehkay truly has something for everyone.

5. Joe’s Tailoring

Another tailor that has been around for more than 40 years is Joe’s Tailoring.
Unlike most old school tailors though, Joe’s Tailoring founder Joseph Koh, is lucky in that the family’s next generation is interested in taking over, with Joanne, Justin and Bubbly Joy now managing the business with Joseph.
This injection of fresh blood brings about digital innovation and design that appeals to younger clientele. Services like zoom consultation and an online shop have successfully transitioned Joe’s Tailoring to the digital age.
Joe’s Tailoring’s suits are fully stitched and made in Singapore and customers can choose fabric from high-end brands from Italy and the UK. One particular specialty is their hand-rolled lapels, which ensure the lapels look elegant beyond what a machine can produce.
Beyond that, the tailor also offer quality accessories, such as Joseph Cheaney shoes, umbrellas and quality cuff links.
One notable celebrity mention is Peter Cetera, frontman of Chicago. He is so satisfied with Joe’s Tailoring that he proclaimed himself the tailor’s #1 fan.

6. Suit Yourself

SuitYourself is the new kid on the block, having just started recently in 2016.
Interestingly, the business is formulated by a group of students for a NTU project, with its goal of offering great suits at an accessible price point for young adults.
To do so, they use technology like the 3D body scanner to improve fit, which eliminates the need of an actual tailor or a showroom to do measurements. They however, offer visits to their factory/office by appointment only. All these ultimately translates to better savings, staying true to its commitment to sticking by accessible price point.
Through its website, you can also personalise buttons, linings and include monograms, though finer personalisation is missing from its offerings. Notably, customers can choose unique silk-print linings (including quirky or bold designs that only the yound or bold dare venture into) to give their suit a one-of-a-kind touch.
This new way of tailoring has proven very beginner-friendly and successful so far. The brand has recently moved to a retail showroom to better showcase its offerings while Google reviews have suggested that the beginner-friendly service has taken away some of the intimidation that old-school tailors tend to exude for younger adults.
Pricing:
- A 2-piece suit can run from $425 to $615, depending on the quality of fabric
- A 3-piece suit will cost between $555 to $820
- Shirts range from $99 to $159
- Accessories, such as lapels and ties, cost between $25 to $75
Location:
14 Scotts Road, Far East Plaza #02-54, Singapore 228213
7. Meiko Tailor

Many customers may affectionately call Meiko Tailor as Uncle Chung’s tailor due to the founder’s affectionate personality and stewart of the shop since the late 70s.
The tailor is located at Pan Pacific Hotel, which means its offerings are a little higher-end, but it also reflects Meiko Tailor’s continued popularity over the years as a respectable tailor and craftsman.
Meiko Tailor insist on hand-cutting and stitching garment in-house (you can witness it first-hand, seeing Uncle Chung doing it in the shop) show their commitment to tailoring as a craft, rather than something you can outsourced to a factory.
In a testament to its dedication to the craft and quality as well, the only fabrics available in the shop are fabrics that Uncle Chung personally approve. This includes fabrics from top mills like Carnet, Loro Piana and Ermenegildo Zegna.
The tailoring process is also highly client-centric, often involving 1–2 meticulous fittings. This truly gives you a great customer experience, making the final product seem more like a piece of art you treasure. Meiko also goes the extra mile in convenience: they offer “door service” visiting tailor appointments, bringing fabrics and taking measurements at a client’s home or office for those too busy to come to the shop.

Meiko Tailor will provide an accurate quote for your piece upon consultation
Location:
7 Raffles Blvd, #02-01 The Pan Pacific, Singapore 039595
8. The Prestigious Bespoke

As the name suggests, The Prestigious Bespoke is a shop you go if you want quality tailored clothing that may not be that friendly towards your wallet.
However, if you see value in quality, then the service you get from The Prestigious Bespoke is definitely worth it.

The tailor has also been featured prominently in many men’s and luxury magazines like Esquire, The Peak and Men’s Folio.
Moreover, every aspect of the suit-making process is done in their Boat Quay shop. The close proximity ensures top-notch quality control, and you actually get to see suits being made on-site.

Anyone who frequented Far East Plaza (mostly for the salted egg pork nowadays) will not miss the tailor’s bright yellow signboard.
Today, the tailor is managed by Suresh Mulchand who has continued to build the tailor’s reputation and even suit up celebrities like Hardy Mirza.
